Common questions

How is the cubage of an air shipment calculated?
Get the dimensions of each box to be transported (in centimeters) and multiply the height x width x length and then divide by 6000 (for air freight) or by 5000 (for express courier freight).

Example: Box with: height (20 cm) x width (30 cm) x length (40 cm) = 24,000

Air cargo (factor 6,000) = 24,000 / 6,000 = 4 kg.

Courier (factor 5,000) = 4.8 kg (round off to 5.0 kg).

How much does it cost to send a small package or document by courier?
Shipping rates vary greatly depending on which destination you need to ship to and what type of urgency or service you have. The best way to get an estimate is to contact us, request a quote, or schedule a personal contact over the phone or in person.

How does the Courier on Board service work?
When we receive the service request, we will send the quotation with the transaction values. After approval by the client, we summon one of our professionals to collect the document or product and embark to the delivery destination, taking the document or product as accompanied luggage. The operation is completed only after delivery to the final customer.

Can I bring more than one Commercial Invoice on an import shipment?
Yup. A single import shipment can be made (courier or formal), with more than one Commercial Invoice and Packing List, as long as they have the same origin and the same importer. However, it is not possible to have a single shipment for two separate deliveries.

Can I send alcoholic beverages by courier?
Yup.
Shipping is possible, however the sender and recipient must be legal entities duly licensed to make this type of shipment.

The sender must declare the following information on the Commercial Invoice:

- Name, phone and full address of both sender and recipient.
- Number of bottles and liters of beverages that make up the shipment.
- Type of alcoholic beverage.
- Alcohol content per bottle.
- Percentage of sugar per bottle.
- Commercial value per bottle.

• Beverages with an alcohol content above 70% are restricted and are considered dangerous cargo.
• Beverages with an alcohol content between 25% and 70% are restricted if they exceed the limit of 5 (five) liters per internal volume.
• Beverages with an alcohol content of up to 24% are considered unrestricted.

Can I import in Brazil with Incoterms DDP?
Not.

The Incoterms DDP cannot be used for imports into Brazil, as the tax payer must have a CNPJ for their debit. Therefore, an exporter abroad does not have a CNPJ to assume import taxes and other local fees.

How to properly pack a shipment of goods?
You can help ensure your package arrives safely and on time by following packing instructions and procedures developed from UPS research.

Use a rigid box with flaps intact;

Do not wrap the box with paper. Example: Kraft Paper, Gift Paper, etc. Because the paper may tear and release the shipping label from the box, causing the shipment to be lost;

Remove any previous labels, hazardous material indicators, and other marks that are now irrelevant from the box;

Wrap items separately;

Use suitable filling material (bubble wrap, for example);

Use heavy duty shipping tape;

Do not use rope or paper ties;

Use a single label that has clear and complete shipping and return addresses;

Place a mailing label inside the box, if the outer label comes off, UPS can identify the shipment by the additional address label inside the box;

You can also write by hand on the box (with a pilot pen or other type of pen), the AWB (Aerial Bill) number;

See Correct Packing Guide.
